The 2008 Mixer was organized by the
Port Hope Club and held in Port Hope's Jack
Burger Sports Complex - May 28 2008
The key
note speaker was Marina Nemat, author of
"A
Prisoner of Tehran".
The doors opened at around 8:30 and despite concerns,
parking was well organized and there were no complaints.
Entertainment was provided by the Ancient Music Trio
in the lobby and the Cobourg Concert band
in the arena.
Ross
McKie piped in the guests who included Port Hope's Mayor, Linda
Thompson.
Above is a collection of photos in a short slide
show. More photos will be available later. Once again
the crowd was in excess of 700 people.

Organized by Northshore Probus Club, the Spring Mixer for 2007
was on Thursday, May 17 at the New Baltimore Arena, Baltimore.
There were 674 probus members present from clubs all over
the region from Belleville to Port Hope to Peterborough and
even from the new club in Lindsay.
Ted Barris was the keynote
speaker and told us about the victory at Vimy Ridge that
was a "coming of age" for Canada. At right are a few
photos from the Mixer - but for a whole lot more, go to this special
photo gallery - click here.

Welcome to the Newest Club in Northumberland
Ganaraska Valley
Port Hope now has a second club and membership is full after less
than a month of operation! Meetings are held in the Town Park Recreation
Centre in Port Hope on the second and fourth Thursdays.
On November 14th, several clubs combined to hold a Curling
Bonspiel at Dalewood. Judging from the photos, a good time
was had by all. This is an annual affair and all Clubs in
the Area are invited to participate.
